A queen bee isolation cage, also known as a confinement cage, is a tool used in beekeeping to manage queen introduction, queen rearing and varroa mite control. It allows worker bees to gradually adapt to the queen’s scent, reducing the risk of rejection when introducing a new queen.
In queen rearing, they provide a controlled environment for selected queens to lay eggs in specific cells. Additionally, they can interrupt the varroa mite breeding cycle by reducing brood production.
Place frame with queen bee inside the cage and then place inside the hive. Remove when you are finished with it.
Fits 1 frame only.
